What the END AGAIN? Part Deux

"Well, well, well, That's another fine mess you've gotten me into!!"
(Oliver Hardy)

I am not supposed to be here today. You are not supposed to be here. The world is not supposed to be here.

Waz up wit dat?

I quite work. I told the the landlord to kiss my a@# and drank all the beer. I pee'd in the neighbor's yard and I am still here.....we are still here.

Now what the hell am I going to do?

Nothing.  Just another day in the life of a blogger.

The fact is "It" wasn't the end of the earth it was the end of a calender cycle.

And that my friends is the end of this story.

P.S.  At 06:15 (EST) this morning began the fist day of winter or as some might say "The Winter Solstice".

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

What the END AGAIN??

OK people I just want to say "I Love You All and Have a Happy After Life."
Really?
Tomorrow is December 21st 20012 the end of the world according to the Mayan Calendar.I guess I don't have to be worried about my January house payment or my taxes or any bill for that matter.
Actually I think I might.  Of the few articles I have read so far it seems that it's not the end of the world but the end of a time span and a new time span begins.
I really don't know what to say at this point because I reading all kinds of things from New Agers theory and Astrological charts and God knows what else........

You know what I think I will have to continue this tomorrow..... I need a beer.  There is a lot of stuff on this subject that could make sense so just in case I think I will make love to my wife call the kids to say "I Love You" and research more later.
Peace Out Bro's

Facebook Crap or Not?

I was making my monthly visit to Facebook to check out who is talking sh@t about who and how many birthdays I had missed of people I truly don't know.

IMAGE REMOVED

Now, no one wants anyone hurt let alone killed by anything even a gun. So I decided to do a little research.

What I found was still disturbing but I had to make a comment on the figures a the post. Here is what I wrote:

"One person dying of a gunshot wound is not acceptable. However according to the CDC the figures in this post are misleading. Now, don't get me wrong it is still bad enough but in 2010 31672(10.26% of pop.) died of gunshot wounds.(by the way 436 were in Chicago).Of the 31672 death 30817(9.98) were violence related, meaning criminals. 19392 were suicides(6.28%), 606(0.20%) were unintentional. Now if we really need to pick on gun laws in the world per capita Columbia has a real problem with 51.77% death rate by guns. My gun hasn't killed anyone. They run away!!"

Just for the record I got the information from the following web address Center for Disease Control.

So  I went to Nation Master.Com a website that was created by Rapid Intelligence a company out Australia and found some amazing figures.

Post  Country  Nation Master
48      Japan        47
8         GB           14
34      Swiss        68
52      Canada      144
21      Sweden     58
42      Germany  269
10728 USA        9369

All these figures are bad enough but the point is even with gun control people are going to get killed either way. I still believe that with proper training guns are no more dangerous than an automobile, which was 34498 or 11.5% of the population in the US.

So when you see stats on the Internet remember one thing "The stats are projected for the best outcome to the person wanting to make a point" and hey yes my stats might lean more towards my point as well but if you don't check them out you'll never know.

Thanks

The Fortune Cookie and it's Consequences

It seems that the "Fortune Cookie" is more than just a cookie. I say this because of a recent event that occurred.

Before I get to that I was curious about where the cookie came from so I Goggled it like any good blogger would and this is what I found..........

Chinese or Japanese, Angelino or San Franciscan?
One history of the fortune cookie claims that David Jung, a Chinese immigrant living in Los Angeles and founder of the Hong Kong Noodle Company, invented the cookie in 1918. Concerned about the poor he saw wandering near his shop, he created the cookie and passed them out free on the streets. Each cookie contained a strip of paper with an inspirational Bible scripture on it, written for Jung by a Presbyterian minister.
Another history claims that the fortune cookie was invented in San Francisco by a Japanese immigrant named Makoto Hagiwara. Hagiwara was a gardener who designed the famous Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. An anti-Japanese mayor fired him from his job around the turn of the century, but later a new mayor reinstated him. Grateful to those who had stood by him during his period of hardship, Hagiwara created a cookie in 1914 that included a thank you note inside. He passed them out at the Japanese Tea Garden, and began serving them there regularly. In 1915, they were displayed at the Panama-Pacific Exhibition, San Francisco's world fair."

The reason I even bring up the fortune cookie is because a year ago my daughter and son in law finally had the opportunity to adopt a baby boy.  They had been trying to have kids for years and a couple of times even had chances to adopt but all failed until recently.

With out going into great detail the adoption agency found a young women who was putting her unborn up for adoption and my daughter and son in law were picked to be the new parents.

Now to the point of the story.

They met with the mother and offered to take her out to dinner and asked where would she like to go and she said she liked Asian food so they went to an Asian restaurant and with their food of couese they got fortune cookies.

My daughter opened her cookie and read the fortune. It said something along the lines of " What you have been wishing for will come true soon" and the next day the baby (his name is Lukas) was born.  The adoption went through with no problems and now he is one year old living with my daughter Stephenie and her husband Chad.

So say what you will about fortune cookies but be careful what you wish for when you crack it open.

That fortune in the cookie may just come true.

What's on my brain today?

I was thinking the other day ( which is a bad thing sometimes for me) about what to do this year about all the projects I have started and never finished or no desire to participate in.

I have Facebook I totally don't need anymore, too much advertising and games and just way too much b#@%$h%t, I have long ago got rid of MySpace so that's one thing I don't have to worry about. Google + is starting to get like Facebook.  I have Picasa for my pictures but now it's attached to Google+  photos and I don't know how to upload direct back to just Picasa anymore.

My real website is just no fun anymore because I am not in a band and no one has a need to go there. I do like having that site though but I can't really figure out what to do with anymore. Maybe I change it to a photo site or something. Hey how about porn? No that ain't happening. I could start a trucking scrap book but I really don't go far enough to make really interesting.

At least I have this place. Plain and simple to use, people check it out, it's free which is always good, so maybe out of all the project's have I'll just keep this one and maybe goodbye to all the rest, except http://www.utcrockandroll.net because one day I may learn how to be a webmaster put some real content on there.

So I guess for now I'll go take an aspirin, drink a beer and wait for the football games to start.

Sunday Football

I actually wrote this blog on my website http://www.utcrockandroll.net but thought that no one would see it there, I show real confidence in my website huh, so I pushed the old Ctrl-a then Ctrl-c and came over here and Ctrl-v and bing-bada-boom here it is.......

"Today is just like yesterday only the name has been changed to make you think it's different. I mean think about it. The sun comes up from the East at about the same time. The temp seems to be the same as that other day with the different name and the coffee still tastes the same. I did notice that the shows on TV are different. A good thing? Maybe that way we know that the name of the day has changed. Am i being silly? No,yes, but I am trying to think of something to write about. Oh I know how about....Football!

Yes, that is a good thing. I am not a big football fan but I do enjoy it. It is difficult at times though because I am a Redskins fan. OK! OK! Stop laughing!! Anyway, I see that the Saints ended up winning, good game really till the fourth quarter, Texans beat the Bengals which I couldn't care less about or should I? Today the Falcons will beat the Giants ( oh shit did I say that out loud) I mean The Falcons play the Giants and the game I want to see is Pittsburg and the Broncos.

Now like I said I am not a big football guy but I do enjoy the game, I don't know anything about stats or who needs to beat who to get in the play off, most because my team sucks, but at this point the quality of the game should be good. So do what I and sit back grab a cold beverage, cheese and crackers and fall asleep on the couch!"

Trying something new with my Flight Simming
